Eating in Baamonde

Eating in Baamonde

Although there isn’t really any stand-out food of Baamonde, you will still find an extensive range of good products to eat. Our recommendation regarding what to eat in Baamonde is centered, above all, in their fish and seafood. And you can’t skip a little Licor de Café! In terms of places to eat in Baamonde we should tell you that you won’t have that many to choose from, though the ones we’ve found have quite a bit of variety.

This small town offers flavorful seafood such as el rape and la merluza fish, which are fundamental to Galician cuisine. Meat, especially their veal, is another key regional ingredient and dominates the offering at most of the local restaurants. These dishes are usually accompanied by vegetables like Pementos do Couto (with I.G.P) or Pemento de Herbón (with D.O.P).

Additionally, other essential products in the local gastronomy are empanadas and, of course, the octopus a feira, prepared traditionally with a touch of cayenne, either of which are a great option. You also can’t leave Baamonde without first tasting the delicious filloas, and you can wash them down with a delicious shot of the famous Galician Licor Café or one of the wines with D.O.P.

At Pub SOA they have an adequate fast-food menu, although we recommend eating from a regular menu in Baamonde.

The options for eating in Baamonde aren’t very expansive, but the few establishments in the small town offer the opportunity to taste the typical Galician dishes listed in the previous section. At Restaurante Galicia, you’ll find as much seafood as you will produce, although the latter is what really predominates. Some of their specialties are therefore mussels and clams in a house sauce, Galician soup, roasted or stewed veal and lamb and hake fish a la gallega.

Another alternative is Casa Do Labrego which, like the previous restaurant, has an ample and varied offering, although what really stands out is their cocido (which they offer during the months of October to May). It’s also here that you can try the delicious octopus a feira. Other dishes that you can’t skip are their roasted lamb, their entrecot de buey and their grilled meats.
