Madrid has a number of secret courtyards, fascinating public patios, where you can read, relax, drink coffee or simply observe your surroundings. This is our list of the most magical patios in Madrid, we hope you enjoy them.

Patio de la Casa Museo de Lope de Vega

The House Museum of Lope de Vega, in the heart of Cervantes Street on the 11<sup>th</sup> floor, is an inspiring experience in Las Letras District, right next to the famous Convent of the Trinitarians. It’s surprising to suddenly find yourself in a palace from the 17 century perfectly decorated and well-kept. The building has a patio that is simply delightful, and can be accessed free of charge every day of the week.  We visited on Saturday and left wanting more.

Patio del Museo del Romanticismo

This relaxing environment is the perfect place to have lunch and good conversation after an interesting visit to the museum. You can always discover something new here. This patio is located at 13 San Mateo Street.

Jardines del Museo Lazaro Galdiano

These gardens on 122 Serrano Street are usually quiet and rarely crowded. These gardens deserve more attention from the tourists and neighbors of the area. Its temporary exhibitions are always interesting, this palace exudes activity and contemporaneity. You must visit and relax in the gardens!

Patio del COAM

Very contemporary, this space located on 63 Hortaleza Street is a versatile space where you can find families and children playing, small concerts, and even work lunches. It is one of our favorite places in Madrid, because there is always something to see and do in this special and relaxed atmosphere.

Patio del Instituto Francés

You will find a little jewel when you cross the majestic door and grand staircase to this courtyard. You can visit this garden on 12 Marqués de la Ensenada Street. Its quiet atmosphere, colorful yet worn chairs, and towering vegetation are the hallmarks of the charming courtyard that you can find inside.
