Candeleda is located in the Tiétar Valley, between the provinces of Ávila, Toledo and Cáceres. Its main attractions are the Castro del Raso,an important archaeological site, and the Pimentón Interpretation Center, where you will learn more about the process of making and manufacturing La Vera pimentón (paprika).
Hotel Nabia is a 4 stars hotel and it’s our favourite in Candeleda. It’s located in a rural area and it owes its name to the Celtic Goddess of mountains, valleys and rivers. It offers 12 rooms, including suites with underfloor heating and a semi-private garden.
The Posada Albarea is a central bed and breakfast, built over an old casa del médico and a sewing workshop. It respects the architecture of the old building and the rooms have a rustic decoration. It’s certainly one of the best places to stay in Candeleda and you can have a good gin and tonic at the bar.
The Hostal los Castañuelos is a newly built hostel. The restaurant stands out for its regional cuisine and late check-out is available.
And last, but not least, the alojamientos de Lunacandeleda, 3 different country houses. You can rent a whole house or just the individual rooms.
If you are interested in knowing the area, you can stay in the neighboring villages. In Madrigal de la Vera we find La Golondrina, an apartment with all the comforts you need, close to hiking trails. The views on the Sierra de Gredos are wonderful.
